The chapters

A network that stays local

How the network works

COUNTY CHAPTERS — 47

A chapter in every county

Led by members who live and practise there, supported by the Secretariat, and answerable to county priorities — not Nairobi's calendar.

  • Monthly chapter workshops, county-tailored
  • Chapter-led field days and site visits
  • County priority agendas, set annually
  • Chapter assembly at the Annual Summit
Ask about your county

CAMPUS CHAPTERS — 31

Thirty-one campus chapters

Student-led, faculty-mentored, profession-bound. The campus chapter is where the register's next decade is recruited.

  • Green Careers programme and fairs
  • Internships & attachments board — 400+ placements a year
  • Student council and leadership track
  • Campus field modules on live projects

The CPD record

Every hour, counted

CPD-bearing activities
01Earn

Attendance at ESOK activities and accredited external events logs hours to your record automatically.

02Record

The member portal keeps the register; certificates issue per activity, ready for employer or regulator.

03Verify

The Professional Standards committee audits a random sample of records every year.

04Certify

40+ hours a year for three consecutive years earns the Certified Member distinction — CMESK.

Before you ask

Membership, answered

Ask the Secretariat

No. The register spans lawyers, engineers, planners, EIA and audit practitioners, climatologists, communicators, financiers and educators. If the environment is your profession — in practice, study or mandate — there is a grade for you.

Fees are annual from admission, with a sixty-day grace window. Students at partner institutions and members in hardship may apply to the Chapters committee for a waiver. No one is removed from the register for inability to pay alone.

Yes — at Professional grade or above, on an affiliate basis. Our mandate is Kenyan; our members are not exclusively so.

Any time. Upgrades follow the same committee review, and your accumulated CPD record counts toward eligibility.

No. The record, hour certification and the Certified Member distinction are all included in membership.

Corporate and institutional subscriptions are generally treated as professional subscriptions. The Secretariat provides the documentation your finance team needs — confirm treatment with your own advisors.
